Privacy
The short version. Aidewise has no accounts and no servers that hold your information. What it learns about you is stored on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. It collects no analytics and contains no advertising or tracking code of any kind. The one place your information goes off the device is the AI model you chose, because that is where the thinking happens.
What stays on your iPhone
Your conversations, everything Aidewise has learned about you and the people in your life, your open commitments, and your settings are all stored in the app's own database on the device. If you have iCloud enabled, that database syncs through your private iCloud account, which means it moves between your own devices and is covered by Apple's iCloud privacy terms. It is not readable by us and we hold no copy of it.
Your Ollama API key is stored in the iOS Keychain on the device. It is never uploaded anywhere except to Ollama, to authenticate your own requests.
What is sent to the AI model you chose
Aidewise sends requests to Ollama Cloud at ollama.com, using the API key you provide, so that a model can answer you. What goes in those requests is:
- The messages you type, and Aidewise's replies in that conversation.
- Relevant pieces of what it remembers about you, retrieved to give the model context for your question.
- When a morning or evening brief is generated: your calendar events for that window, reminders due, commitments you have open, upcoming birthdays it knows about, and, if you granted Health access, your step count and hours asleep for the previous day.
This information is handled by Ollama under their own privacy terms, not ours. Whether they retain it is their decision to disclose, so read their policy at ollama.com before granting Aidewise access to anything you would not want sent there. If you leave a permission switched off, that category is left out of the request entirely rather than sent empty.
What the notification server stores
A small companion server exists for one reason: to wake the app so a brief can arrive on time even when the app is closed. It is an alarm clock, not a brain. It stores only:
- Your Apple Push Notification device token.
- Your timezone name, for example America/Los_Angeles.
- The times you chose for your briefs and check-ins, and your quiet hours.
- Timestamps recording when it last sent something and when the app last checked in.
It holds no message content, no calendar or Health information, no name, and no email address. Nothing you say to Aidewise ever passes through it.
What Apple receives
Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service, so Apple handles the notification in transit. iCloud sync of your Aidewise database goes through your own Apple account. Both are governed by Apple's privacy terms.
What Aidewise does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no fingerprinting.
- No third party SDKs at all. The app ships with zero external dependencies.
- No selling or sharing of your information, because we do not hold it.
- No account, so there is nothing for us to link your activity to.
Health information
Health access is optional and stays off until you turn it on. When it is on, Aidewise reads step counts, sleep and workouts so it can notice when your rest or activity is drifting. Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone other than the AI model you chose, as described above. You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app or in Aidewise itself.
Your control
Inside the app you can export everything Aidewise knows about you as a plain JSON file and read it yourself, or erase all of it in a single action. Deleting the app removes its on device database. If iCloud sync was on, delete the app's iCloud data from your Apple account settings as well.
Children
Aidewise is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app has no accounts and collects nothing on our side, there is no record for us to hold in any case.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes to what leaves your device will be called out in the app, not buried here.
